MANILA (UPDATED) — Police have taken in custody Police Senior Master Sergeant John Mollenido, whose police officer wife and five-year-old boy disappeared last month and were later found dead.The Quezon City Police District confirmed the development on Sunday afternoon.They said Mollenido is a person of interest in the disappearance and deaths of PSMS Diane Marie Mollenido and her son John Ysmael.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/1/31/ncrpo-arrests-suspects-in-disappearance-and-killing-of-policewoman-son-1038">READ: NCRPO arrests suspects in disappearance and killing of policewoman, son</a></div>According to Mollenido&#x27;s lawyer, he voluntarily submitted himself to the police and was not arrested.He is currently under investigation. Meanwhile, three other suspects are set to go undergo inquest proceedings on Sunday.One of the suspects, a 41-year-old man, voluntarily surrendered to the QCPD and pointed to the two other suspects as the masterminds in the killing.The two other suspects are a 44-year-old dismissed police officer and a 29-year-old female car agent. — from a report by Francis Orcio, ABS-CBN News<div> </div>
