Martin Bureau, AFP </span></span></span>MANILA — Three congressmen from the Makabayan bloc sought Wednesday a House inquiry into the alleged Philippine-based operations and connections of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.</div><p>Gabriela Women’s Party Rep. Sarah Elago, ACT Teachers party-list Rep. Antonio Tinio, and Kabataan party-list Rep.  Renee Co House Resolution 762 for the House Committee on Public Information and the House Committee on Women and Gender Equality to conduct the investigation in aid of legislation.</p><p>“A recent report indicates that email exchanges from the Epstein files show that Epstein and his associates engaged a Philippine-based team to clean up his online image after his conviction as a sex offender,” Elago said. </p><p>“The potential use of Filipino employees and digital infrastructure that could mask sexual exploitation of women and children underscores the need for legislative scrutiny and policy review to ensure that no elements within the Philippines are vulnerable to abuse, exploitation or trafficking in persons, including in online context,” she said.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/2/10/legarda-to-file-resolution-seeking-investigation-on-epstein-s-alleged-network-in-ph-1821">Legarda to file resolution seeking investigation on Epstein’s alleged network in PH </a></div><p>Under the resolution, the inquiry will seek to uncover the full nature, scope and duration of Epstein’s activities and networks within the Philippines.
