PCO</span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — Malacañang on Wednesday belied rumors that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has been diagnosed with colon cancer after his bout with diverticulitis.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/health-science/2025/3/27/colon-cancer-sa-pilipinas-sobrang-taas-na-paano-ito-agapan-at-gamutin-1446">Colon cancer sa Pilipinas &#x27;sobrang taas na&#x27;: Paano ito agapan at gamutin?</a></div><p>This after former Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque claimed that the Chief Executive might have been relying on a colostomy bag, a plastic pouch attached to the abdomen after a colon-related surgery.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/health-science/2026/1/23/what-is-diverticulitis-1242">What is diverticulitis?</a></div><p>“Nakita naman po natin ang video, iyong kabuuan kung saan itinaas pa po mismo ng Pangulo ang kaniyang mga kamay habang siya’y kumakaway sa ating mga kababayan at kitang-kita po na ang sinasabing larawan or ipinakitang larawan ni Harry Roque ay pawang kasinungalingan lamang,” Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said in a Palace briefing.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/1/28/marcos-skips-another-event-after-diverticulitis-diagnosis-0928">‘Konting pahinga lang’: Marcos ‘recovering’ from diverticulitis, to focus on ‘critical duties’ — officials</a></div><p>“Huwag na po tayong maniwala at nakikiusap po tayo, huwag na po nating dalhin sa anumang usapan ang mga fake news peddlers katulad nila,” she said.</p><p>“Ang masama kasi mga rumors, mga tsismis, walang katotohanan na nakakapanira sa gobyerno, nakakapanira sa Pangulo na nakakaapekto sa ekonomiya,” she said.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>SARA DUTERTE &#x27;LIES&#x27;<br/></strong></div><div><br/></div><p>Castro also belied Vice President Sara Duterte’s recent statement that the administration seems to be targeting senators who have been talking to her.</p><p>“It’s another story-telling a lie,” the Palace official said.</p><p>“Tandaan po natin, hindi natin malaman kung saan ba nanggagaling ang kanilang mga talent sa pag-i-spread ng mga fake news,” she said.</p><p>This was not the first time that Duterte has peddled false information about various issues involving the administration, Castro said.</p><p>“Nauna na pong nagpakalat ng fake news ang Bise Presidente patungkol sa diumano’y pagkaing baboy lamang ang bente pesos na bigas na ipapamigay, or rather, ibibigay at ibibenta sa mas murang halaga ng Pangulo through KADIWA centers,” she said.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/2/11/sws-5-in-10-satisfied-with-vp-sara-performance-at-end-of-2025-1128">SWS: 5 in 10 satisfied with VP Sara performance at end of 2025</a></div><p>“Nandiyan din po iyong fake police blotter, altered police blotter mula sa Beverly Hills,” she said.</p><p>“Nandiyan din po iyong mga fake videos – hindi isa, kung hindi dalawa – laban sa Pangulo at sa ating Unang Ginang.
