Marcos, Robredo to meet in Naga – Palace

<p>MANILA — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his former political rival Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo are set to meet on February 21, Malacañang said on Thursday. </p><p>Marcos will visit <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/2/18/marcos-jr-studying-ici-report-palace-2158">anti-flood operations</a> along the Sagop Creek, one of the critical waterways in Naga, Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said in a Palace press conference.</p><p>“Double time ang trabaho ng mga kawani ng DPWH (Department of Public Works and Highways) para ibsan ang mga pagbaha sa low-lying areas ng bicol region,” she said, noting that similar projects were also underway in Cebu and Bacolod.</p><p>Castro — who was wearing Robredo’s 2022 campaign color pink — denied that neither her choice of clothes nor the President’s weekend trip to Bicol signalled that the Marcos Jr. administration was negotiating with other political groups for the 2028 elections.</p><p>“Wala po kasi talagang napapag-usapan sa pangangampaniya o kung sino ang magiging kandidato sa 2028,” Castro said <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/2/18/sara-duterte-to-run-for-president-1102">a day after Vice President Sara Duterte announced that she would run for presiden</a>t in the 2028 national elections.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/2/19/think-tank-sara-duterte-s-early-presidential-bid-may-be-tied-to-impeachment-1333">Think tank: Sara Duterte’s early presidential bid may be tied to impeachment</a></div><p>But when asked if the President and his former rival were expected to discuss other issues outside of flood control projects in Naga, Castro said, “‘Yan ang abangan ninyo.”</p><p>“‘Yun lang po ang binigay na impormasyon.
