<p>MANILA — Senate President Vicente Sotto III wants Filipinos to have just one verified social media account per platform to curb the proliferation of internet trolls.</p><p>This, in the wake of the proliferation of trolls bashing various sides of the West Philippine Sea issue.</p><p>He said he has considered the proposal even before the 20th Congress started.</p><p>&quot;Dapat ang internet, whatever platform sa internet, kailangan one person, one account, ubos yung mga trolls. The system has not prevented harassment, disinformation, or the proliferation of bot acocunts on the platform.</p><p>Sotto&#x27;s idea also comes as the Department of Information and Communications Technology is studying requiring the registration of social media accounts, a move that rights groups have opposed over privacy and free speech concerns.</p><p>&quot;Yan ang pinakamaganda.
