<p>MANILA -- The House of Representatives has authorized its ethics panel to conduct a hearing on March 18 regarding Quezon City 4th District Representative Bong Suntay&#x27;s controversial remarks on actress Anne Curtis-Smith, and required Suntay to attend.</p><p>The House plenary action was prompted by the request of House Committee on Ethics and Privileges Chairperson JC Abalos.</p><p>&quot;I would also like to request the majority to move, to require Rep. Bong Suntay to attend the said hearing, as well as authorizing the Committee on Ethics to immediately report its findings. I would also like to take the opportunity to assure the private complainants who also filed a case against the Respondent that their grievances will be given due course,&quot; he said during the House plenary session on Tuesday.</p><p>The lower chamber approved the motion to take action on Abalos&#x27;s request after no House member objected.</p><p>Last March 10th, the ethics panel began tackling the complaint against Suntay, which the lawmaker attended.
