Maria Tan, ABS-CBN News</div>MANILA — The University of the Philippines maintained its top rank in the 2026 top 100 universities in the Philippines ranking by EduRank. De La Salle University ranked second, followed by Ateneo de Manila University.Other UP constituent universities were also included in the top 10 universities, with UP Los Baños in fifth place and UP Manila in sixth.University of Santo Tomas placed fourth, while Mapua University placed seventh, followed by University of San Carlos (8th place), Asian Institute of Management (9th place) and Silliman University (10th place).<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/1/26/up-open-university-offers-28-free-online-courses-1146">UP Open University offers 28 free online courses </a></div>EduRank based its rankings on three areas: research outputs, non-academic prominence and alumni influence, with the final score consisting of 45 percent research performance, 45 percent non-academic prominence, and 10 percent alumni score.It analyzed 944,000 citations received by 84,700 academic publications made by 229 universities in the Philipines. It also analyzed the popularity of 1,341 recognized alumni.Meanwhile, University of Tokyo ranked first among the best universities in Asia, followed by Kyoto University, Tsinghua University, Peking University and the National University of Singapore.UP Diliman placed 312th in Asia, while DLSU placed 400th, and Ateneo placed 457th.
