MANILA - Vice President Sara Duterte will not attend the hearing under the House Committee on Justice on Wednesday regarding impeachment complaints against her, the spokesperson of the impeachment defense team told ABS-CBN News.Atty. Michael Poa said a letter was sent to the House Committee on Justice regarding this.&quot;We confirm that counsel for the Vice President submitted a letter today to the Committee on Justice stating that the Vice President will not be attending the hearing tomorrow, in light of the constitutional objections raised therein,” Poa said on Tuesday in a message to ABS-CBN News. The hearing proper on the impeachment complaints are set to begin on Wednesday. House Committee on Justice Chairperson Gerville Luistro said they were advised Duterte’s camp will not participate in the formal proceedings.But Luistro made it clear that the hearing will push through.“They are questioning the constitutionality of the proceedings, but the Committee on Justice is duty-bound to continue with its mandate under the Constitution,” Luistro said on Tuesday.Luistro earlier said it would be to the disadvantage of the vice president if she decides to forego the hearing.According to Luistro, her absence would mean no evidence will be presented to refute allegations from the complainant. <div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/3/24/house-panel-yet-to-receive-word-if-vp-sara-will-attend-impeachment-hearing-proper-1432">House panel yet to receive word if VP Sara will attend impeachment &#x27;hearing proper&#x27;</a></div>
