MANILA - Authorities have rescued four victims and arrested two suspects involved in online sexual abuse and exploitation of minors in separate operations in Quezon City and Davao City. In Quezon City, a woman was arrested after allegedly offering the eight-year-old son of her female partner for livestream sexual abuse in exchange for money.  Police said the suspect sold videos of the abuse to an Australian client.“Minsan, nagu-groom ‘yung bata. So si bata, tiwala na ‘yung ginagawa sa kanya is okay lang. Kokonsensiyahin ‘yung bata na kailangan nating gawin ito para mabuhay,” said PBGen. Huwag tayong masyadong tiwala dahil nga dun sa instances na kadugo na nga nagagawa pa, paano na lang kung hindi?” Portento warned. Meanwhile, in Davao City, another suspect was arrested following an investigation that revealed he had been distributing old photos and videos of minors, taken between 2021 and 2023, for online sexual exploitation. According to police, the suspect presented the victims as minors to solicit sexual content online.From January 1 to March 21, 2026, the PNP-WCPC has recorded 41 reported cases of online sexual abuse and exploitation of children, resulting in the arrest of 22 suspects and the rescue of 66 victims. “‘Yung mga tao namin dito, pinabababa namin sa komunidad, sa mga schools, para alam nila ‘yung mga red flags and at the same time, alam nila kung paano mag report sa kinauukulan,” Portento said.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/11/3/lgus-reminded-on-ordinances-protecting-children-from-online-sexual-abuse-exploitation-1613">LGUs reminded on ordinances protecting children from online sexual abuse, exploitation </a></div>Authorities urge the public to report any suspected cases of child abuse via the PNP-WCPC hotlines at 0966-725-5961 and 0920-907-1717, or email alengpulis.didm@pnp.gov.ph. Complaints can also be filed through their official <a href="https://www.facebook.com/wcpc.didmpnp">Facebook page</a>. The PNP reminds parents and guardians to remain vigilant and protect children from online predators exploiting digital platforms.
