PPA pool</span></span></span></div><div><br/></div><p>NEW YORK — Malacañang said Sunday the concert held inside the Goldenberg Mansion was aimed to promote local artist and was not a &quot;lavish&quot; event.</p><p>This was in response to former Duterte administration presidential spokesman Harry Roque, who criticized the gathering in a Facebook post amid President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s order to conserve energy across the government in view of the escalating crisis in the Middle East.</p><p>Roque’s social media post showed a photo of the event from First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos’ post and another photo showing an invitation to Malacañang dated March 5 to celebrate &quot;Latina Manila.&quot;</p><p>“Tuloy pa rin ang ligaya sa gitna ng giyera,” he said in the caption.</p><p>(Fun goes on in the middle of war)</p><p>“Unang-una, alam ba ni Atty. Harry Roque kung ano ang event pag sinabi nating konsiyerto sa Goldenberg Mansion? Noon pa po ito, every month po ito ginaganap. Bakit? Ito po ay para i-promote mismo ang mga local artists natin, ang kultura natin, ang mga Pilipino na may talent. Hindi lamang po ito isang event,” Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said along the sidelines of Marcos&#x27; visit to the United State. </p><p>Castro said the First Lady invites students to the event to showcase and celebrate their talents.</p><p>“Mga estudyante po ang kinukumbida rito ng Unang Ginang. Mga estudyante na para mabuksan ang kanilang isip na ito ang meron tayo. Ito ang maipagmamalaki natin. So, hindi po ito isang marangyang event.
