MANILA — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Tuesday presented the results of its forensic examination of acknowledgment receipts linked to the utilization of confidential funds of Vice President Sara Duterte, pointing to possible similarities in handwriting across multiple documents.During the clarificatory hearing conducted by the House justice committee, NBI Question Documents Division chief Carolyn Moldez-Pitoy and NBI Director Melvin Matibag presented a 4-page findings of the forensic examination on at least 36 acknowledgement receipts pertaining to the Vice President’s confidential funds.Pitoy said the analysis was conducted on original receipts on file with the Commission on Audit (COA).Pitoy said there were groups of receipts that were written by the same person.According to the NBI expert, the questioned signatures in several receipts “showed similarities in handwriting characteristics.”Pitoy added that beyond the signatures, the handwritten dates appearing on some of the acknowledgment receipts were also found to have been written by “one and the same person.”“‘Yung patterns ng letters and the figures dun sa handwritten dates reveal significant similarities, indicating that they were written by one and the same person,” she explained.She presented the receipts containing the names “Sally Rendon” and “Sheila Dado,” which showed that the “habit of the writer is the same and the manner of execution of the strokes, indicating that these two signatures were written by one and the same person, although they are of two different names.”The NBI official then presented several more receipts bearing different names and different handwritten dates, noting that the handwritten dates on some acknowledgement receipts were made by &quot;one and the same person.&quot;<div><iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FabscbnNEWS%2Fposts%2Fpfbid0SGavbiKHZSZtig6yKm7XK1mT5SnnPUDYV5jsMaCmQmkYPK1XURqd8TMz2zkB2wfyl&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500" width="500" height="792" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div>“‘Yung pagkakasulat ng handwritten name and the number and the dates reveal significant similarities, indicating that the handwritten names and the figures were written by one and the same person. They were grouped depending on the class and the styles of handwriting.” “Sa findings number 4, ang binigyan lang ng opinion ay ang handwritten dates.  Hindi nabigyan ng opinion ang signatures, so maaaring ang dalawang date lang ang sinulat ng iisang tao, pero ang signature, wala kaming opinion kasi hindi sila comparable,” she added.
