<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px;display:block" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/177630600512020240419-pnpa-graduation-JC-11.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">PNPA graduates participate in the field performance during the  Commencement Exercises of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) LAYAG-DIWA class of 2024 at Camp General Mariano Castañeda in Silang, Cavite on April 19, 2024. <em>Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA <strong>(2nd UPDATE)</strong> — The Philippine National Police on Thursday said it has relieved the top official of its academy, along with eight others, following the alleged hazing of 22 underclassmen.</p><p>In a media briefing at Camp Crame, PNP spokesperson Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño said those relieved effective April 15 include Police Major General Andre Dizon, director of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA).</p><p>He has been replaced by Central Visayas Police Regional Office (PRO-7) Director Brigadier General Redrico Atienza Maranan.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/4/10/napolcom-to-probe-reported-hazing-at-pnpa-1016">Napolcom to probe reported hazing at PNPA</a></div><p>Also relieved were the Commandant of Cadets, Assistant Commandant of Cadets, Senior Tactical Officer, Echo Tactical Officer/Duty Officer, Incoming Duty Officer, Echo Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) Tactical Officer, Administrative Police Non-Commissioned Officer (PNCO)/Duty PNCO, and Supply PNCO/Duty PNCO during the incident.</p><p>Tuaño noted that the officials may be held administratively liable for the crime, adding that such incidents should be reported to the national headquarters within 12 to 24 hours for appropriate guidance and action.</p><p>“Matatandaan po natin na ang insidente noong April 3, araw ng Biyernes, ngunit ito ay nakarating kay chief PNP noong araw ng Martes—four days after the incident.
