Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News/File </span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — Criminal complaints have been filed against seven cadets and two training officers of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) in connection with the alleged hazing of 22 fourth-class cadets earlier this month.</p><p>The respondents were formally charged on Monday, before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor in Imus, Cavite for violation of the Anti-Hazing Act. </p><p>The PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said the respondents include five third-class cadets and two-second class cadets.</p><p>Two police officers were also included in the complaint, it added.</p><p>The case stemmed from the reported maltreatment of 22 fourth-class cadets at the academy’s campus in Silang, Cavite on Good Friday, April 3.</p><p>The victims suffered burns and other injuries after allegedly being exposed to muriatic acid and drain-cleaning chemicals during the hazing.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/4/14/pnp-vows-stronger-safeguards-after-alleged-hazing-of-cadets-1312">PNP vows stronger safeguards after alleged hazing of cadets</a></div><p>Three suspects were initially arrested, while four more individuals with alleged direct involvement were later identified.</p><p>Following the incident, the <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/4/16/pnpa-director-8-others-relieved-from-posts-amid-hazing-probe-dilg-1012">PNPA director and eight other academy officials</a> were relieved from their posts. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/4/13/pnpa-reshuffle-eyed-amid-hazing-probe-1531">PNPA reshuffle eyed amid hazing probe </a></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/q0czK4YgikI?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
