MANILA (2nd UPDATE) — Patay ang limang persons under police custody (PUPC) matapos bumangga ang police mobile na sinasakyan nila sa isang pader sa kahabaan ng Payatas Road, Brgy. Payatas B, Quezon City, alas-onse ng umaga ng Biyernes, April 24.Sugatan ang apat na police personnel kabilang ang driver ng sasakyan habang nasa ospital pa ang isa pang preso.  Sa inisyal na imbestigasyon ng Quezon City Police District, nawalan ng preno ang sasakyan na siyang sanhi sa pagbangga.Dagdag nila, patungo sana sa BJMP facility ang police mobile upang ihatid ang mga PUPC.Ayon sa isang saksi, pagewang-gewang na lumiko ang police mobile sa Payatas Road bago ito tuluyang sumampa at bumangga sa pader.“Wala gumewang na diyan papunta diyan… tapos sumampa diyan tapos bumangga,” ani Ronald na nasa lugar nang mangyari ang insidente.Dagdag niya, wala nang malay ang mga presong sakay ng mobile bago pa sila isinugod sa ospital.“Paglabas namin nakahilata na lahat. Lumabas yung driver tiningnan yung mga kasama niya tapos halos walang malay lahat sir. Yung mga pulis lang may malay, yung mga ano wala na.”Patuloy ang imbestigasyon ng QCPD kung bakit nawalan ng preno ang minamanehong police mobile.“Pero imbestigahan pa rin natin ng maayos, sir. Mabagal naman po ang takbo. Kasi kung makikita nyo sir, itong kalsada natin ay paahon. Hindi po yan palusog para magmadali yung mobile. Sa ganun kasi sir, di natin masabi rin talaga eh,” paliwanag ni PCpl. John Paul Garcia ng QCPD Traffic Sector 5.“Kasi loaded sila, kahit mabagal yung takbo ng sasakyan kapag loaded, pag bumangga yan, talagang medyo yung damage ng sasakyan ay medyo malaki-laki. Oo yun sir, kasi bumanga sila sa pader, nag-ipon-ipon sila dun sa harap ng mobile,” dagdag niya.Dumating din sa lugar si Quezon City Police District Director P/Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio kasama ang Scene of the Crime Operative team ng QCPD.Pasado ala-una ng hapon nang maalis ang sasakyan sa pinangyarihan ng insidente.Samantalang ipinagutos naman ni Quezon City Police District Director Police B/Gen. Randy Silvio ang agarang imbestigasiyon sa nangyaring aksidente.Aniya nakikipag ugnayan na ang QPCD sa mga traffic at medical authority na nadeploy sa pinangyarihan ng insidente. Nagpaabot naman ng funeral at burial assistance ang Quezon City Local Government Unit (QC LGU) sa mga pamilya ng mga yumao. “The QCPD extends its deepest condolences to the families of the deceased PUPCs. We remain committed to transparency and will provide further updates as more information becomes available. We reiterate our steadfast commitment to the safety and welfare of both our personnel and those under our protective custody at all times”, ani Silvio sa kanyang pahayag.
