<p>MANILA — The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) may “soon” issue a red notice against fugitive former lawmaker Zaldy Co, a central figure in the flood control controversy, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said Tuesday. </p><p>Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said the government had completed <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/2/11/nbi-submits-additional-requirements-to-interpol-for-red-notice-vs-zaldy-co-1723">all requirements </a>for the red notice application and had coordinated with the Philippine Center on Transnational Crime (PCTC), the local Interpol liaison unit.</p><p>“Nag-apply na kami sa PCTC so we should receive word pretty soon tungkol sa red notice sa kanya. Hopefully, within the next two weeks, nandiyan na siya,” Remulla said. </p><p>“We submitted it last November. Kakapalit lang ng leadership ng PCTC, so kukulitin ko sila for the next two weeks. Kukulitin sila para tignan natin kung ano results,” he added.</p><p>A red notice is a worldwide request for law enforcement to find and provisionally arrest an individual.  </p><p>Co is believed to be in <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/3/11/marcos-jr-confirms-zaldy-co-in-portugal-0617">Portugal</a>, Remulla noted.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/1/21/zaldy-co-sent-feelers-to-priests-wants-dialogue-with-ph-authorities-dilg-chief-1245">Zaldy Co sent &#x27;feelers&#x27; seeking &#x27;dialogue&#x27; with PH authorities </a></div><p>The DILG previously said Interpol had issued a blue notice, a request to collect additional information about Co’s identity or whereabouts, as part of pursuit efforts.</p><p>Remulla confirmed that the DILG also applied for Interpol red notices against two members of Sunwest Corporation, a company linked to an allegedly anomalous flood control project in Oriental Mindoro. </p><p>“Isa nasa New Zealand, isa nasa New York. So in-apply na rin namin na red notice ‘yung dalawa. It should be done soon,” Remulla said.</p><p>“Hindi tayo titigil hanggang mapauwi lahat ‘yan. Justice must be served and justice must be given.
