Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News/File</div>MANILA -- Malacañang on Sunday slammed presidential sister Senator Imee Marcos over her claims of bribery and threat of facing legal battles to lawmakers who will not vote in favor of Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment. Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said claims should have evidence for it to be credible as she lamented officials who are becoming accustomed to unfounded claims.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/5/5/palace-calls-out-imee-for-spreading-fake-news-on-vegetable-importation-1553">Palace calls out Imee for spreading fake news on vegetable importation </a></div>“Mas may credibility kung sa bawat paghuhusga, may kasama ng ebidensya. Nasasanay na po ang mga ilang nakakataas na opisyal natin na sa haka-haka na lamang bumabase,” Castro told Palace reporters in a statement “Mabilis pa lang makahawa ang gawain ni FPRRD sa paggawa ng intriga at pagplanta ng ebidensya. Huwag tularan!” Castro added. Earlier, Marcos alleged that the lawmakers who will not vote for the vice president’s impeachment are being threatened of getting sued by the Ombudsman. “May bagong pananakot ngayon. Three little letters na naman. Ang pangalan: Ombudsman, OMB. Nakakatakot dahil kakasuhan ka raw kapag hindi ka bumoto para sa impeachment ni VP Sara,” she said in a Facebook reel posted Saturday. “Maliban pa sa OMB, may DOJ pa, may NBI pa, may SEC pa. Sangkatutak na kaso ang uulan sa inyo pag hindi kayo bumoto ng tuwid,” she added. Marcos also claimed of an &quot;incentive package&quot; to congressmen to secure votes in favor of Duterte&#x27;s impeachment which includes P5 million in cash; P3 million additional Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) per month and P150 million worth of projects per congressman.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/4/13/palace-labels-imee-s-statement-on-marcos-jr-s-health-as-fake-news-1319">Palace labels Imee’s statement on Marcos Jr.’s health as ‘fake news’</a> </div>Those who will vote no would face zero budget and possible legal charges, according to Marcos. Several congressmen, including House Justice Committee chairperson Gerville Luistro and Tingog Partylist Representative Jude Acidre, denied the allegations, with the latter urging the presidential sister to provide proof. Asked by ABS-CBN News for comment, Marcos replied &quot;dedma&quot; (ignored).
