Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa appealed Monday to the Philippine judiciary to resist any move that could lead to the former police chief’s transfer to the International Criminal Court (ICC).</p><p>In a statement posted on Monday, Nancy Dela Rosa pleaded with judges and legal officials not to “be an accessory to bringing my husband to The Hague,” where the ICC is based.</p><p>“Every Filipino must be tried in his own country. Granting the people in power permission to voluntarily surrender another Filipino is an admission that you are weak and incapable of handling this case,” she said.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/5/13/bato-dela-rosa-now-officially-included-in-icc-s-wanted-persons-list-1721"><strong>Bato dela Rosa now officially included in ICC&#x27;s wanted persons list</strong></a></div><p>The ICC last week unsealed an arrest warrant against Dela Rosa, accused along with former president Rodrigo Duterte and<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/5/23/nbi-ready-for-more-icc-warrants-says-dela-rosa-still-in-ph-1306"> other &quot;co-perpetrators&quot; </a>of the crime against humanity of murder under the war on drugs.</p><p>The Philippine Supreme Court&#x27;s interim ruling last week <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/5/20/sc-rejects-bato-dela-rosa-s-tro-request-vs-icc-warrant-1422">denied the Dela Rosa&#x27;s bid for a temporary restraining order</a>, which the justice department said meant ICC warrant can now be enforced.</p><p>But the Supreme Court on Sunday reiterated that the <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/5/24/sc-reiterates-no-main-decision-yet-on-dela-rosa-s-petition-on-icc-1933">main decision on the former police chief&#x27;s petition </a>remained pending. During these times, they are going to great lengths to surrender another group of Filipinos,” she added.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/5/19/icc-prosecution-eyes-20-30-witnesses-to-testify-orally-in-duterte-trial-1445"><strong>ICC prosecution eyes 20-30 witnesses to testify orally in Duterte trial; Over 13,000 evidence still pending review</strong></a></div><p>Duterte was arrested last year and is <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/5/22/icc-grants-duterte-s-waiver-to-skip-first-status-conference-sets-agenda-for-may-27-2324">awaiting trial by the ICC.</a></p><p>The wife of Dela Rosa ended her statement with a public appeal for support, asking Filipinos to share her message “[until] it reaches every heart of every legal mind.”</p><p>“Laban ko ‘to para sa asawa ko,” she said. “Pero laban nating lahat ‘to para sa bawat Pilipino at para sa ating bayan.”</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>FIREARMS </strong></div><div><br/></div><p>Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said it has yet to receive any formal request from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) regarding the possible revocation of Dela Rosa’s firearms licenses. </p><p>In a text message on Monday, PNP Public Information Office chief PCol. Allen Rae Co said a firearms license “shall be revoked automatically and immediately” once any of the conditions stated under the 2018 Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act No. 10591 are present.</p><p>He explained that the existence of even a single ground is enough to warrant revocation without the need for further proceedings.</p><p>Co added that the Firearms License Revocation and Restoration Board (FLRRB) under the Civil Security Group would convene to determine whether any of the grounds for revocation apply in the senator’s case.</p><p>“The PNP has not yet received any formal request from the National Bureau of Investigation regarding the revocation of the firearms licenses of Senator Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa,” Co said. </p><p>“Upon receipt of such request, we will evaluate and act on the same in accordance with the provisions of Republic Act No. 10591 and its Revised IRR, swiftly and within the bounds of the law,” he added. </p><p>This came after NBI Director Atty.
