<p>MANILA —The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has issued a subpoena to Peanut Gallery Media Network (PGMN) anchor CJ Hirro in relation to the investigation on the alleged extortion attempt on former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.</p><p>In a copy of the subpoena given to ABS CBN News on Friday, Hirro was ordered to appear at the NBI on Monday, May 11.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/5/7/mabanta-s-lawyer-says-case-against-client-is-weak-2041"><strong>Mabanta&#x27;s lawyer says case against client is &#x27;weak&#x27;</strong></a></div><p>PGMN founder Franco Mabanta’s legal counsel earlier denied receiving a copy of the subpoena.</p><p> “We didn’t get anything. She’s not a respondent in this case. There was no subpoena given to us. We spent the whole day in the NBI today. They could have just given it to us if there were such a thing, but nothing,” Atty.
