MANILA - Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla has revealed plans to return to his home province of Cavite and run for a local position in the 2028 elections.There had been previous talks that Remulla may run for a national post in 2028. But speaking during the Kapihan ng Samahang Plaridel on Friday, Remulla admitted that he has recalibrated his political direction, saying he wants to focus on public service for the right reasons rather than personal ambition.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/5/8/dilg-chief-remulla-says-fugitive-atong-ang-last-spotted-in-cavite-1612">DILG chief Remulla says fugitive Atong Ang last spotted in Cavite</a></div>“Kasama sa buhay natin ‘yan na the virtue of ambition serves a purpose. You aim higher than you really can. But I didn’t want that virtue to become a vice na ‘yun na lang ang hinahabol ko. I want to do my job for the right reasons,” Remulla said. He added that public perception of him remains mixed, but he is willing to accept it as part of leadership. “I still have a wide perception gap na kailangan kong i-bridge.
