Jinggoy Estrada has filed omnibus motions questioning the filing of plunder and graft cases against him in connection to the flood control scandal. </p><p>&quot;Ipinakikiusap namin sa korte na tignan ang mga paratang laban Kay Sen. Jinggoy... at na suriin kung makatotohanan ba ang mga ito,&quot; Estrada’s lawyer Noel Ostrea said.</p><p>Ostrea said this was separate from their urgent motion to withdraw warrants of arrest, which they filed Friday morning.</p><p>In a statement, Estrada said his camp asked the court to consolidate the cases pending before the Second and Fifth Divisions, defer the issuance of warrants of arrest, quash the information, and remand the cases for reinvestigation and/or completion of the preliminary investigation.</p><p>He urged the court &quot;to first give due consideration to the motions I have already filed and to uphold the principles of due process.&quot;</p><p>&quot;These are not mere technicalities. I firmly believe that I am entitled to avail myself of the remedies available under the law, including the filing of a motion for reconsideration, especially considering that I received a copy of the Ombudsman Resolution on the plunder case only on Friday evening. It is only fair and just that I be afforded the opportunity to fully exercise these legal remedies before any coercive measures are taken against me,&quot; the senator said.</p><p>Estrada on Friday <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/5/29/jinggoy-estrada-arrest-warrant-out-1346">posted bail</a>, hours after the Sandiganbayan Second Division ordered his arrest for a graft case stemming from alleged budget insertions and kickback schemes involving flood control projects worth P573 million.</p><p>The senator faces a separate non-bailable plunder case before the Sandiganbayan Fifth Division. Its Presiding Justice Geraldine Econg said the court would first consider a motion filed by Estrada’s lawyers before issuing any hold departure order or warrant against the respondents. </p><p>Estrada maintains that the allegations against him are baseless and false. </p><p>“Umaasa ako sa patas na pagtrato, due process, at pagiging walang kinikilingan sa pagdinig ng kasong ito.
