MANILA — Leaders of different religious organizations in the country have announced a “White Ribbon March” on June 28 at the historic EDSA People Power Monument in Quezon City.In a press conference in San Juan City, Kidapawan Bishop Colin Bagaforo, chairman of the Catholic Bishops&#x27; Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) Commission on Inter-religious Dialogue said around 10,000 people are expected to join the rally.Bagaforo said, the “White Ribbon March” is a continuation of the Trillion Peso March to protest political dynasties and massive corruption in government.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/6/14/atom-protests-misuse-of-anti-dictatorship-laban-sign-1339">ATOM protests &#x27;misuse&#x27; of anti-dictatorship &#x27;Laban&#x27; sign </a> </div>He said the rally is &quot;faith-based&quot; and that the religious leaders are calling for it after &quot;communal discernment&quot; by the Inter-Religious Leaders Council for National Transformation.He said it is meant to remind government that Filipinos deserve a better future through &quot;better&quot; politics.‘Politics that serve the people&#x27;s interest, protects human dignity, and is guided by justice rather than greed,” Bagaforo told reporters.He said the protest march will start at noon and participants expect to be at the EDSA People Power Monument by 1:30 p.m.Bagaforo said everyone is invited to join said march against corruption but clarified the “White Ribbon March” is neutral and without any political color.He said no politician will be allowed to go on stage and speak.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/9/12/up-students-rage-against-government-corruption-1415">UP students rage against government corruption</a></div>“Everybody is invited…but on the point whether or not our political leaders will be on the stage or will be given a chance to speak…the answer is negative,” he said. Bishop Efraim Tendero, global ambassador for the World Evangelical Alliance said the protest is named &quot;white ribbon&quot; because it is not about partisan politics.“Walang kulay, walang kulay ng pulitika kundi ang ating panawagan ay truth, accountability, justice, and righteousness maghari na sa ating bayan” he said.Bagaforo believes the rallies will help ensure that the voice of the people will be heard and will eventually end corruption.“When corruption becomes normalized, the nation’s moral compass is damaged and the weak are burdened when the powerful escaped accountability. Corruption is not only a crime, it is a betrayal of trust,” Bagaforo said.“Higit sa lahat, dapat ang mga tiwali, ang mga sangkot ay dapat managot na - ikulong na. Aaron Pedrosa of progressive group SANLAKAS, Bishop Joseph Agpaoa of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP), and Imam Aleem Naguib Tater.
