Maria Tan, ABS-CBN News</div>MANILA — Church and civil society groups held the White Ribbon March on Sunday, June 28, to continue the call for government accountability amid the ongoing impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte and the probe into flood control corruption. More than 3,500 joined in the gathering at the EDSA People Power Monument in Quezon City, authorities said.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/6/28/atom-tindig-pilipinas-renew-calls-for-accountability-push-senate-to-proceed-with-impeachment-trial-1148">READ: Groups renew calls for accountability and for impeachment trial to proceed</a></div>BAYAN President Renato Reyes, however, clarified that the protest is neither pro-Marcos nor pro-Duterte.&quot;The different groups already expressed that this rally, ang panawagan, lahat ng sangkot dapat managot…hindi ito pro-Duterte rally, hindi rin ito pro-Marcos rally, kundi isang klarong anti-corruption protest na malinaw sinapanagot lahat ng sangkot,&quot; he said. The rally started with a mass presided over by Bishop Jose Colin Bagaforo, where he called on government officials to stop being self-centered and embody the selflessness of Jesus Christ.&quot;Ang sentro ng buhay natin ay hindi dapat &#x27;ako.&#x27; Ang sentro ay walang iba kundi si Kristo,&quot; he said in his homily.After the mass, all the groups marched towards the People Power Monument, where the program started at 2:30 pm. Inter-religious and civil society speakers gave their remarks to end corruption. The PNP said no untoward incident took place and the gathering was generally peaceful. Heavy traffic was observed along the northbound lane of EDSA-Ortigas during the duration of the event, so motorists were advised to plan alternative routes. <div> </div><div>RALLY ENDS PEACEFULLY</div>Meanwhile, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Nicolas Torre III said the White Ribbon March ended peacefully. &quot;Naidaos naman ng maayos at natapos ng maayos. Sa ngayon po ay nagdedemobilize na ang mga participants at tapos na po ang kanilang mga programa,&quot; said Torres in an interview on DZMM Teleradyo Sunday night.Although traffic slowed down a bit near the People Power Monument, the barriers they set up helped manage the flow of vehicles, he said. &quot;Sa White Plains lang naman ang kalsada na apektado talaga na isinarado at hindi pa total closure kanina dahil nakakadaan pa sa isang lane,&quot; he said. Torre added that they have put on standby their garbage collectors to make sure they will be able to clean up the streets after the protesters have left the area. &quot;Mayroon tayong garbage trucks na nandiyan, may mga several team ng ating tagwalis at street sweepers. Naghihintay lang mawala ang mga tao para malinis na nila,&quot; he said. &quot;May mga portalets tatanggalin din mamaya iyan.&quot;
