Rosa, AFP</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA (<strong>UPDATED</strong>) — The Quezon City Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS) has approved the request of Minister Eraño Codera of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) to hold a peaceful rally along White Plains Avenue and Temple Drive in Quezon City on July 1.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/6/30/iglesia-ni-cristo-backs-marcoleta-amid-plunder-raps-questions-selective-justice-0920">READ: Iglesia ni Cristo backs Marcoleta amid plunder raps, questions &#x27;selective justice&#x27;</a></div><p>Based on a copy of the permit shared by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), the assembly is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and is expected to draw around 100,000 participants.</p><p>The permit states that the DPOS has &quot;no objection&quot; to the proposed activity, provided organizers strictly comply with the guidelines set by the city government.</p><p>Among the conditions are the prohibition of total road closures during the event, the maintenance of cleanliness and order in the area, and the immediate cleanup of the venue after the event.</p><p>The permit also states that it may be revoked or canceled in case of an emergency, if public interest so requires, or if organizers fail to comply with the conditions imposed.</p><div><br/></div><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:600px;display:block" width="600"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1782819031904permit.jpg" style="width:600px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="600"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left"><em>Handout/QCPD</em></span></span></span></div><p>Authorities also reminded organizers that the rally must be held only at the approved time and location. </p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/6/30/malaca-ang-scorns-protesters-for-abuse-after-surprise-rally-causes-public-inconvenience-1630">READ: Malacañang scorns protesters for ‘abuse’ after EDSA ‘surprise rally’ causes public inconvenience</a></div><p>Holding the activity elsewhere may constitute a violation of the Public Assembly Act of 1985, or Batas Pambansa Blg. 880, and could be subject to legal action.</p><p>The organizers were likewise directed to ensure that the activity does not hamper security measures being implemented by the QCPD and the city&#x27;s law and order cluster, or disrupt the normal flow of traffic as determined by the Quezon City Police District and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.</p><p>Members of Iglesia Ni Cristo held an &quot;emergency rally&quot; near the People Power Monument on Tuesday morning, disrupting traffic. QC authorities later said that the gathering was held without a permit.</p><p>&quot;Biglaan lahat. Hindi naman kami prepared na magkaka-rally. Katatapos lang ng malaking event namin diyan sa People Power Monument noong Sunday at matahimik naman.
