Alan Peter Cayetano&#x27;s bloc on Thursday was “not a hearing but a gathering,” noting that the official Blue Ribbon hearing is scheduled on Monday next week.</p><p>“Yung nangyari kahapon, hindi hearing iyon kundi gathering,” Gatchalian told DZMM Teleradyo.</p><p>He said the “gathering”, which pushed through despite his bloc’s announcement of a postponed Blue Ribbon hearing, was allowed because the senators from the new minority bloc were still allowed to enter the Senate building.</p><p>“Iyon ay dahil senador yung mga kaharap at pinapayagan naman yung mga senador pumasok sa loob ng building, of course opisina nila iyon, nakapasok sila ng building,” Gatchalian said.</p><p>“Pero iyong pagtitipon na iyon, hindi iyon hearing, iyon ay para sa akin, isang gathering. At yung gaganaping hearing on Monday, ayun ang official hearing na ang chairman ay si Sen. Erwin Tulfo,” he added.</p><p>Gatchalian noted that the statements made on Thursday were not official, and that the supposed resource persons may attend the Monday hearing for their statements to be recorded officially. </p><p>During the Cayetano bloc-led Blue Ribbon proceeding, the “18 former Marines” <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/6/4/gatchalian-resource-persons-won-t-be-allowed-to-enter-senate-on-thursday-0948">linked</a> President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., members of his family, as well as senators from the Gatchalian bloc and opposition figures to the flood control scandal.</p><p>Gatchalian said: “Yung mga sinasabi nila, pinipili nila. Hindi rin tama. Kung gusto nila magsabi nang totoo, dapat lahat-lahat at gawin sa official venue.”</p><p>During the Wednesday plenary session — the last before the Congress adjourned sine die — 12 senators agreed to declare all elected positions vacant and installed Gatchalian as Senate president pro tempore.</p><p>Sen. Erwin Tulfo, who was elected chair of the Blue Ribbon Committee, announced that the panel will resume its probe into the flood control scandal on Monday, postponing the supposed Thursday hearing scheduled by its former chair, Sen.
