UAAP Media/File"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Former Ateneo coach Tab Baldwin. <em>UAAP Media/File</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA (<strong>UPDATED</strong>) -- The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has recommended additional criminal charges against former Ateneo Blue Eagles head coach Tab Baldwin and other individuals involved in a team-building activity in Dipaculao, Aurora that resulted in the deaths of two student-athletes.</p><p>The CIDG on Wednesday confirmed that it has referred homicide and reckless imprudence resulting in homicide charges against Baldwin and others before the Department of Justice (DOJ).</p><p>The CIDG, however, did not disclose the basis for the additional charges, saying the investigation is still ongoing.</p><p>“We will give updates on Monday about the matter, because the investigation is continuing. Thus, so far ito lang ang po ang update today. Tatlo na po ang violations/crimes na referred to DOJ,” CIDG Public Information Office chief PMaj. Helen Dela Cruz said in a text message. </p><p>According to the CIDG, the complaints have already been forwarded to the DOJ for case build-up and evaluation in accordance with DOJ Department Circular No. 20.</p><p>The CIDG also said that another individual has been added to the list of respondents for the alleged violation of the Anti-Hazing Act but declined to identify the person while the investigation is underway.</p><p>The DOJ received the supplemental referral later on Wednesday.</p><p>&quot;The supplemental referral will be treated as forming part of the CIDG’s original referral dated 26 June 2026, which remains under evaluation by the Department,&quot; it said in a statement.</p><p>Last week, the CIDG recommended that the DOJ conduct a preliminary investigation into possible violations of the Anti-Hazing Act against Baldwin and 10 others linked to the June 8 team-building activity.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/6/26/cidg-dilg-hazing-tab-baldwin-ateneo-adili-baterbonia-1042">READ: CIDG eyes hazing raps vs Tab Baldwin, 10 others over Baterbonia, Adili deaths</a></div><p>CIDG Director PMGen.
