Risa Hontiveros on Wednesday claimed to have identified the alleged &quot;adult groomer&quot; of student-gunmen in the deadly June 22 <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2026/6/22/alleged-school-shooting-reported-in-tacloban-1034">Tacloban school shooting</a> incident, although she noted that her findings were still preliminary.</p><p>During the resumption of a Senate panel&#x27;s hearing into the role of online gaming platforms in exposing minors to violent content and harmful online communities, Hontiveros narrated how a Facebook user could be the groomer of the shooters and was possibly linked to the &quot;764&quot; network, considered a Nihilistic Violent Extremist (NVE) group.</p><p>According to the US Department of Justice, the 764 network&#x27;s goals &quot;include social unrest and the downfall of the current world order, including the United States Government.&quot;</p><p>Members of 764 work with one another &quot;towards a common purpose of destroying civilized society through the corruption and exploitation of vulnerable populations, including minors,&quot; it added.</p><p>Police previously said that one of the student-gunmen used the <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2026/6/23/tacloban-school-shooting-planned-shooter-got-gun-from-policewoman-aunt-pnp-0858">firearm of his policewoman-aunt</a> for the shooting.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/1/cop-who-owns-gun-used-in-tacloban-school-shooting-faces-senate-probe-1221">Cop says Tacloban school shooter ‘unlawfully’ entered her house, ‘forcibly damaged’ locker to get gun</a></div><p>After the shooting at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City that left three students dead and at least 20 wounded, alias Nash, one of the suspects, posted on his &quot;dummy&quot; Facebook page, with the profile name &quot;Date Larping,&quot; Hontiveros said, citing a source.</p><p>In his post, alleged members of 764 network published messages of support for Nash&#x27;s supposed involvement in the shooting, she said, adding that a certain Sedykh Ryazanov left a comment.</p><p>Ryazanov said: &quot;Na edit na kita boy sa tiktok. Make sure na delete mo [ang] discord, Reddit, telegram para walang evidence na mahanap.&quot;</p><p>(I edited you already on TikTok. Just make sure to delete your Discord, Reddit and Telegram accounts to clear everything of evidence.)</p><p>&quot;Itong Sedykh Ryazanov rin ang pinaghihinalaang adult groomer ng mga batang ito,&quot; the senator said.</p><p>(Sedykh Ryazanov is suspected to be the adult groomer of the gunmen.)</p><div> </div><div><strong>KMFDM BAND SHIRT, ALLEGED NVE INFILTRATION </strong></div><div> </div><p>Hontiveros added that a separate Facebook account of Nash showed him wearing a black KMFDM band shirt. </p><p>The industrial band is not involved in 764 network, she said, but added that &quot;many members of communities like 764 use that shirt&quot; to pay tribute to the killers in the 1999 Columbine High School shooting incident.</p><p>There are many indications that NVE networks infiltrate online games like Roblox, Minecraft, and Gorebox to conduct recruitment activities, according to Hontiveros.</p><p>Inside the group, tools are provided for sextortion, creation of firearms and explosives, and conduct of other harmful activities, she said.</p><p>Investigators had said that the two underaged students who allegedly opened fire at the Tacloban high school could have been influenced by the open-world gaming platform GoreBox, prompting the government to temporarily ban access to the game.</p><p>GoreBox is a sandbox game that allows users to create and destroy scenarios using weapons and interactive environments.</p><p>In the hearing, Hontiveros also clarified that she was not pushing for a total ban of online games.</p><p>&quot;Hindi gaming community ang kalaban,&quot; she said.</p><p>(The gaming community is not the enemy here.)</p><div><strong>—With reports from Bea Cuadra and Karen De Guzman, ABS-CBN News</strong></div><div><br/></div><div><strong>WATCH</strong></div><div><em><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable fr-active" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/9KtZVMxZqqg?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span></em><br/></div>
