<p>MANILA — The Philippine National Police on Sunday assured the public that it has mobilized its personnel and resources for the disaster response following the onslaught of Typhoon Inday and the southwest monsoon, or habagat, across the country.</p><p>The PNP said police forces across the country have been placed under heightened alert status for immediate deployment for the typhoon response, shifting its focus to search and rescue, road-clearing, relief distribution and other disaster response.</p><p>“A number of our personnel are now assisting local government units and we also have a sufficient number of personnel on standby and ready to be tapped and deployed if necessary,” said PNP chief Police Gen.
