MAYNILA — Apat na Chinese nationals ang inaresto ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) sa isang entrapment operation sa loob ng isang condominium building sa Parañaque City kaugnay ng umano’y kidnapping-for-ransom ng isa ring Chinese national.Nasagip ng mga operatiba ang biktimang may mga pasa, nakatali pa ang mga kamay at paa, na ayon sa NBI ay ikinulong at hiningan umano ng  ₱2 milyong ransom.&quot;Nung buksan &#x27;yung comfort room, nakatali &#x27;yung kanyang paa, nakatali &#x27;yung kanyang kamay, at talagang very visible &#x27;yung mga injuries sa kanya,&quot; ani NBI Spokesperson Palmer Mallari.Ayon sa paunang imbestigasyon, dinukot umano ang biktima matapos itong tumangging makipagtulungan para sa isang business venture sa Cambodia.&quot;According to the requesting party, ang kanyang kaibigan daw ay supposedly dini-detain dahil tumanggi ito na makipagtulungan o magtrabaho para sa isang business venture in Cambodia,&quot; ani Mallari.Sinabi ni Mallari na inaalam pa ng NBI ang tunay na uri ng trabahong ipinipilit umano sa biktima, ngunit hindi aniya maikakaila na kilala ang Cambodia bilang isa sa mga sentro ng online scam operations.&quot;We are actually verifying kung anong klaseng trabaho itong pinipilit siyang mag-engage in, pero alam naman natin na ang Cambodia is actually a scam hub—maraming scam hub na itinayo diyan,&quot; dagdag ni Mallari.Batay sa imbestigasyon, pitong Chinese national ang umano’y sangkot sa krimen. Bagama’t apat lamang ang naaresto, isinama na rin sa reklamong kidnapping and serious illegal detention with ransom ang tatlo pang suspek na patuloy na pinaghahanap.Tumanggi namang magbigay ng pahayag ang mga naarestong suspek.Patuloy ang imbestigasyon ng NBI upang matukoy at maaresto ang iba pang sangkot sa insidente habang nananatili sa kustodiya ng ahensya ang apat na naarestong Chinese national.
