MANILA — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan) reaffirmed its stand on territorial disputes in the South China Sea, reiterating that such disputes should be resolved peacefully and in accordance with the law.In a <a href="https://www.facebook.com/TECO.PHL/posts/pfbid02hMqyhyqjCA1dFK6y3dZSDA5GycbdLX1A2XFe4nDbFUg749QPwJ9CYihRP19WmQeTl">statement</a>, Taiwan’s MOFA reiterated its principles for South China Sea issues, emphasizing that disputes should be resovled peacefully in accordance to international law, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).It also emphasized that Taiwan should be included in multilateral dispute settlement mechanisms, and that relevant countries should safeguard freedom of navigation and overflight in the South China Sea.“Taiwan is a responsible member of the international community and a key stakeholder in the South China Sea.
