Presidential Communications Office </span></span></span></div><p>MANILA – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.&#x27;s public satisfaction rating improved in the second quarter of 2026, recovering from a record-low score in March, according to the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.</p><p>Results of the non-commissioned SWS survey conducted from June 20 to 29 showed 38 percent of adult Filipinos were satisfied with Marcos&#x27; performance, 45 percent were dissatisfied, while 17 percent were undecided.</p><p>This translates to a net satisfaction rating of -7, an improvement from the -15 recorded in March 2026, which was his lowest rating since assuming office in June 2022. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/5/26/marcos-satisfaction-rating-falls-to-record-low-15-in-march-sws-1708">Marcos’ satisfaction rating falls to record low -15 in March: SWS</a></div><p>Under SWS classifications, a rating between +9 and -9 is considered &quot;neutral.&quot;</p><p>The latest score reflects an eight-point increase driven by a rise in gross satisfaction from 33 percent to 38 percent and a decline in dissatisfaction from 49 percent to 45 percent.</p><p>Despite the improvement, Marcos&#x27; rating remains in negative territory, indicating that dissatisfied respondents still outnumber those who are satisfied.</p><p>The survey comes as the Marcos administration continues to grapple with public concerns over inflation, the cost of living, food security, and other economic issues that have weighed on the President&#x27;s approval ratings in recent years.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>ALL MAJOR AREAS IMPROVED</strong></div><div><br/></div><p>SWS said Marcos&#x27; net satisfaction rating increased across all major geographic areas.</p><p>Luzon areas outside Metro Manila posted the strongest result at +11, classified as &quot;moderate,&quot; making it the only region where satisfaction exceeded dissatisfaction.</p><p>The President also registered a -3 rating in the Visayas, an improvement from -15 in March.</p><p>Metro Manila remained one of the president’s weakest areas despite improving to -24 from -31, while Mindanao continued to post his lowest rating at -35, up slightly from -40 three months earlier.</p><p>Satisfaction also improved in both urban and rural communities.</p><p>Among rural respondents, Marcos&#x27; net satisfaction rose from -9 to -2, while in urban areas it improved from -20 to -12.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>PUBLIC PERCEPTION</strong></div><div><br/></div><p>The survey also measured public perception of whose interests the President serves.</p><p>Forty-three percent of respondents said Marcos serves the interests of the rich, compared with 35 percent who said he serves the poor and 25 percent who said he serves the middle class. Respondents were allowed to give more than one answer.</p><p>The proportion of Filipinos who believe Marcos serves the interests of the rich has remained relatively unchanged since November 2025 but is markedly higher than the 23 percent recorded shortly after he assumed office in December 2022.</p><p>Meanwhile, the share of respondents who said the President serves the interests of the poor declined to 35 percent from 37 percent in November 2025 and from a high of 54 percent in December 2022.</p><p>The percentage who believed he serves the middle class also continued to decline, falling to 25 percent from 31 percent in November last year.</p><p>SWS found a strong relationship between perceptions of whose interests Marcos serves and his satisfaction ratings.</p><p>Among respondents who believed the President serves the interests of the poor, Marcos received a good net satisfaction rating of +42.</p><p>Those who said he serves the middle class gave him a moderate rating of +13.</p><p>Respondents who believed Marcos primarily serves the interests of the rich gave him a bad net satisfaction rating of -35.</p><p>The Second Quarter 2026 Social Weather Survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adults nationwide from June 20 to 29, 2026.
