Maria Tan,  ABS-CBN News </span></span></span> </div><p>MANILA — National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Melvin Matibag said Tuesday he was ready to testify at any time in the impeachment trial for Vice President Sara Duterte.</p><p>“Anytime po, wala naman tayong bagong sasabihin kundi kung ano ang nasa dokumento at ebidensya,” he said.</p><p>“Kung voluntary ka namang pupunta, hindi na kailangan ng subpoena,” he added.</p><p>Matibag previously requested that his testimony in the impeachment proceedings be scheduled earlier so he can also attend an international anti-scam summit in Bangkok, Thailand.</p><p>According to Matibag, the SCAM Summit is important to the Philippines’ continuing efforts to stay off the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list.</p><p>“Nire-request ko sana na kung puwede itong week na ito ako makapag-testigo dahil may invitation ako sa Bangkok sa SCAM Summit. Importante ito sa ating pag-stay out of the grey list sa money laundering,” he said.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/13/impeachment-court-tables-prosecution-s-request-for-matibag-to-appear-on-tuesday-1514">Matibag to testify before impeachment court on July 20 </a></div><p>Matibag said he expects to have a side meeting with  Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Cash Patel, which is reportedly being arranged by their counterparts at the US Embassy.</p><p>“May opportunity na magkaroon kami ng side meeting ni Director Cash Patel. Dahil sa success natin sa pagbabalik ng isa sa kanilang most wanted, sumulat pa siya ng letter of congratulation and gratitude,” he said.</p><p>Matibag clarified that he was not dictating the schedule of the impeachment court and was prepared to follow whatever schedule it sets.</p><p>“I respectfully requested, hindi po ako nagdidikta. Wala po tayong poder na magdikta.
