Handout/BJMP</div>MANILA — Sandiganbayan Third Division Chairperson Associate Justice Karl Miranda conducted another inspection at the Quezon City Jail in Payatas after the counsel of Sen. Rodante Marcoleta questioned if the detention facility could affect his health.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/15/marcoleta-back-at-sandiganbayan-for-plunder-trial-after-hospitalization-0830">READ: Sandiganbayan orders Marcoleta&#x27;s transfer to Payatas jail</a></div>He previously conducted a visit to the jail facility in the malversation case of Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr.The inspection covered the intake area, detention cells, the infirmary and other medical facilities, areas for skills development and education programs, the sunning area, classrooms, and the E-Dalaw area.Justice Miranda noted that a jail representative had earlier assured the court that the facility could continue administering Marcoleta&#x27;s prescribed medications, regularly monitor his vital signs and, if necessary, transfer him to the nearest government hospital.He also said the jail facility had a negative congestion rate.The BJMP earlier said there won’t be special treatment for the senator, who was committed to the facility on Wednesday for his plunder charge over the non-declaration of P75 million campaign donations.
