Rodante Marcoleta on Wednesday was<a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/15/marcoleta-brought-to-new-quezon-city-jail-as-sandiganbayan-ordered-1443"> transferred to the New Quezon City Jail</a>, where Sen. Jinggoy Estrada and former senator Ramon Revilla Jr. are also detained for separate cases. </p><p>Asked if the three could share the same jail cell, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology spokesperson Jayrex Bustinera said, “Hindi po, definitely.” </p><p>“Dahil iba-iba po ang schedule, napupunuan po [ang mga selda]. First come, first served po kasi. Halimbawa, may mga nadala na rin, doon po inilalagay sa mga bakanteng selda,” Bustinera told DZMM. </p><p>“Pero definitely, considering yung kanyang profile at other needs niya, probably malapit lang po doon or sa selda na malapit sa infirmary,” he said. “Hindi po pwedeng mag-request dahil kung ano pong available cell. Selda naman ho lahat yun. At titingnan din naman natin kung may mga medical needs ho siya.” </p><p>The Sandiganbayan ordered Marcoleta’s jail transfer after the<a href="http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/news/nation/2026/7/13/sandiganbayan-orders-independent-medical-examination-of-marcoleta-at-pgh-2056"> Philippine General Hospital (PGH)</a> found that there was no need to prolong his hospital confinement following his bout of <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/13/marcoleta-already-fit-to-travel-after-bout-of-mild-pneumonia-1130">mild pneumonia.</a></p><p>For now, Marcoleta will stay in the jail’s infirmary for about a week. </p><p>“Yun din po yung feedback din ng ating ward, na one week observation siya doon and quarantine dahil may risk factor siya. Una, senior citizen, 72 years old [siya] to be exact, then may mild pneumonia nga po. With the <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/health-science/2026/7/6/qc-health-office-allays-concerns-over-uptick-in-covid-cases-1736">rise in COVID cases in Quezon City</a>, may mga symptomatic din po doon na naka-isolate,” Bustinera said.</p><p>“Hindi naman po ‘yan special treatment. After naman po n’yan i-general population ‘pag fit na ho, katulad din noong mga naunang high-profile PDL (person deprived of liberty),” he added. “Lahat naman ho ng bagong commit ay hindi naman agad hinahalo. Protocol din po namin ‘yun.” </p><p>Once Marcoleta is moved to the general population, he will share a 50-square meter cell with 9 other PDLs.
