<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px;display:block" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/178427419589220191211-sea-games-closing ceremonies-cd-00590.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Drones fly overhead during the SEA Games closing ceremonies at the athletics stadium in Clark on December 11, 2019. <em>Czar Dancel, ABS-CBN News/File</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will issue subpoenas to key officials of the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) as part of its investigation into alleged irregularities in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.</p><p>NBI Director Melvin Matibag said the bureau has obtained PHISGOC’s General Information Sheets (GIS) from 2019 up to 2026, as well as the organization’s financial and audited financial statements, which will be used in the investigation.</p><p>“Nakita ko po, nakarating na sa akin yung GIS nila noong 2019… hanggang 2026.”</p><p>According to Matibag, records from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) identify Ramon Suzara as PHISGOC chairman and president, Dexter Estacio as chief financial officer, and John Lester Binsuceso as corporate secretary. These officials, along with other directors, will be summoned by the NBI.</p><p>“Sa Lunes po, mag-i-issue tayo ng subpoena… maimbitahan si Ramon Suzara, si Dexter Estacio, John Lester Binsuceso at iba pang director. Testificandum and duces tecum po ito.”</p><p>Matibag said investigators are also reviewing documents showing more than P650 million in rental expenses and over P300 million in consultancy fees, as well as PHISGOC’s audited financial statements.</p><p>“Hawak ko na rin dito yung mga financial statements na may rental na nagastos, P650 million, P300 million plus na consultancy. Tsaka nakuha ko na rin po yung audited financial statement ng kampanya na ito,” Matibag said.</p><p>Asked about Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, Matibag said his name does not appear in the SEC records obtained by the NBI.</p><p>“Based on the record po ng SEC, yung hawak nating papel ngayon, hindi po naman lumalabas yung kanyang pangalan.”</p><p>“Wala po.”</p><p>Matibag added that one of the questions the NBI intends to ask PHISGOC officials is to clarify what role, if any, Cayetano played in the organization, given that his name does not appear in the official corporate records.</p><p>“Ito po yung isang katanungan natin… sila Suzara to explain what is the role of Senator Cayetano.”</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO</strong></div><div><strong><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/oP_NTZDcV0E?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span></strong><br/></div>
