MANILA — The camp of former House Speaker Martin Romualdez expressed alarm over the possibility of former Public Works Secretary Manuel Bonoan being a state witness for the government in its flood control probe.In an interview on DZMM, Romualdez’ spokesperson Attorney Abdiel Fajardo said they were surprised that Bonoan will possibly be a state witness considering that he has never mentioned Romualdez in connection with flood control projects.He also reiterated that there is no evidence connecting Romualdez to the “ghost projects”.Fajardo likewise believes that the prosecution is in a rush to look for state witnesses especially since it is almost a year since President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. revealed the anomalous projects.“Parang kabute na bigla na lang lumabas ito dahil siya ngayon ay under hospital arrest because of his pending cases for plunder before the Sandiganbayan,” he said.“Baka may mga ibang motibasyon diyan lalo na at hindi nababanggit itong pangalan na Martin Romualdez all throughout the testimonies kasi wala namang kinalaman talaga,” he added.The Office of the Ombudsman earlier said the testimonies of eight former bodyguards of Ako Bicol Rep.
