<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px;display:block" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/178450555940020260513-senate-pnp-ncrpo-security-JC7542.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Members of the National Capital Region Police Office secure the area near the Philippine Senate as pro- and anti-impeachment groups hold protests in Pasay City on May 13, 2026. <em>Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News/File</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has entered the final phase of its preparations for the 44th ASEAN Chiefs of National Police (ASEANAPOL) conference, deploying more than 1,500 personnel to secure one of the region&#x27;s biggest law enforcement gatherings.</p><p>The five-day conference, scheduled from July 22 to 26, is expected to bring together police chiefs and senior law enforcement officials from across Southeast Asia, along with dialogue partners and observer organizations, to discuss regional security concerns and strengthen cross-border cooperation.</p><p>According to the PNP, all major preparations are on track, with administrative requirements substantially completed and final rehearsals concluded.</p><p>As of the latest update, 186 delegates have confirmed their attendance, representing ASEAN member states, the ASEANAPOL Secretariat, dialogue partners, and observer organizations.</p><p>To support the country&#x27;s hosting duties, the PNP has deployed 1,559 personnel from various National Support Units, backed by partner government agencies.</p><p>Authorities have also readied 282 mobility assets and 3,765 communications and information technology equipment to ensure uninterrupted security and coordination throughout the event.</p><p>The conference will focus on enhancing regional cooperation against transnational crimes, terrorism, cybercrime, human trafficking, and other emerging security threats.</p><p>&quot;Handa na ang inyong PNP.
