Allen Rae Co said investigators have identified the brother of still at large suspect alias &quot;Eden&quot; as among those allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of Carpenter inside his residence in Sibulan, Negros Oriental.&quot;We now have six suspects actually. &#x27;Yung nauna pong dalawang nahuli, dalawang sumurrender, and then &#x27;yung alyas &#x27;Eden&#x27; and his brother, lumalabas po na kasama rin ito,&quot; Co said.Police said they are still determining the specific participation of the newly identified suspect, stressing that the investigation remains ongoing and that authorities continue to verify if other individuals were involved.The four suspects already under police custody have undergone inquest proceedings, while charges against the two fugitives will be filed before the prosecutor&#x27;s office through regular filing.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2026/7/17/fourth-suspect-in-american-scientist-s-slay-surrenders-1239">READ: Fourth suspect in American scientist’s slay surrenders</a></div>Despite the additional suspect, the PNP maintained that robbery remains the primary motive behind the killing.&quot;Wala pa tayong nakikitang to indicate otherwise. Maybe you are talking about the connection sa work niya, wala pa tayong nakikitang ganyan. Although, lahat nga tinitingnan natin. Hindi pa po tapos ito,” Co said. &quot;It doesn&#x27;t mean that we have identified [the suspects], we have filed cases, e tapos na po ito. We will continue investigating,&quot; he added. Police have yet to receive the results of the comprehensive rape examination conducted on Carpenter&#x27;s live-in partner, who survived the attack. The samples are currently being examined by the PNP Crime Laboratory.The PNP considers the case &quot;solved&quot; under its operational standards, citing the arrest of more than one suspect allegedly involved in the crime, even as efforts continue to locate the two remaining fugitives and determine the possible involvement of other individuals.
