The sheriff involved, Abe Andres, is also <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/6/25/court-sheriff-vp-duterte-punched-in-2011-listed-as-prosecution-witness-in-impeachment-trial-1943"><strong>listed among the prosecution&#x27;s witnesses </strong></a>in the impeachment trial.<br/><br/><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/svEaudlp5ZM?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/>Aside from the video, the NBI also obtained an affidavit from Arturo Lascañas, a former police officer and self-confessed member of the vigilante group Davao Death Squad.</div><p>In the affidavit, Lascañas described Duterte as among the architects of Oplan Tokhang, the controversial anti-illegal drug campaign carried out during the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte, the Vice President&#x27;s father, Matibag narrated during his testimony.</p><p>Matibag is serving as the prosecution&#x27;s final witness on allegations of grave threats and inciting to sedition, which form part of the Articles of Impeachment against Duterte.</p><p>The article of impeachment is mainly anchored on statements made by Duterte in which she claimed to have instructed someone to kill Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and Speaker Martin Romualdez should she be killed first.
