MANILA – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has told 2.5 million poor and &quot;near-poor&quot; households to prepare their eGovPH mobile application and account details for an easier digital payout of their August-to-December UPLIFT assistance.  The reminder came as the nationwide rollout of the Unified Package for Livelihood, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) Assistance officially began on Monday. The program aims to cushion the impact of an energy crisis triggered by Middle East geopolitical tensions, targeting 7.5 million total beneficiaries, the DSWD said.The agency said that under &quot;Group 2&quot;—comprising households identified by the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System—recipients are set to receive P2,000 monthly through December.  While the initial July cash distribution is being conducted manually at local assembly sites to collect account details, the government will shift to digital transfers via platforms like GCash and LandBank starting in August.  &quot;Sa unang pagkakataon, manual muna. Ipapatawag sila sa mga basketball courts, assembly area, ima-manual na ibibigay sa kanila ang Php2,000. Pero itong pangkat na ito kasi, anim na buwan na tig-P2,000, so yung susunod naman nilang mga buwan na ayuda, matatanggap nila sa GCash (or LandBank) nila,&quot; DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian said in a radio interview over DZMM TeleRadyo.  DSWD spokesperson Irene Dumlao urged recipients to register on the eGovPH app prior to visiting payout centers, where agency personnel will assist with digital account verification and enrollment.  &quot;Hinihikayat po natin ang ating mga benepisyaryo na i-download at mag-register sa eGov PH app bago pa man pumunta sa payout site. Malaking tulong po ito upang mas mapabilis ang enrollment ng kanilang napiling payment channel at maiwasan po ang pagkaantala sa pagtanggap ng kanilang mga susunod na assistance,&quot; Dumlao said.
