Mahalaga ang araw na ito hindi lamang para sa pamahalaan kundi para sa bawat Pilipino, dahil ito ang pagkakataong magbigay ang Pangulo ng ulat sa kalagayan ng bansa at ng direksiyong ating tatahakin. Handa na ang Kamara para sa ikalimang State of the Nation Address ng Pangulo,&quot; Dy said in a statement.</p><p>He joined on Tuesday House officials in a final run-through and inspection of the lower chamber&#x27;s plenary hall, where the President will deliver his fifth SONA, and other key areas.</p><p>Preparations for the July 27 SONA included improvements to the House complex, hallways and common areas, and the construction of new al fresco lounges for members and guests.</p><p>Around 30 medical personnel from the House Medical and Dental Service, augmented by teams from St. Luke&#x27;s Medical Center, Diliman Doctors Hospital, the Philippine Heart Center, and East Avenue Medical Center, will be deployed throughout the complex to ensure the safety and well-being of SONA attendees. </p><p>Additional responders from the Department of Health, local government units, the Bureau of Fire Protection, and the Philippine National Police will also be on standby to respond to any emergency.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>SONA WISH LIST</strong></div><p>Two House leaders hope the President will include in his SONA, short-term plan for the education, tourism, health, education and transport sectors.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/21/escudero-says-impeachment-trial-suspended-next-monday-tuesday-for-sona-1938">READ: Escudero says impeachment trial suspended next Monday, Tuesday for SONA</a></div><p>&quot;Ang ine-expect ko numbers… Accomplishments by the numbers, yung mga short-term plan na very crucial for the next 2 years. &#x27;Yan ang talagang tinitignan ko. At siyempre ang seckor ng agrikultura, turismo, health at education. Yun naman po yung mga basic na hanggang ngayon nangangailangan pa rin ng tulong. Ako siguro specific, targeted by the numbers, hindi sweeping. So mas surgical siguro na SONA ang ine-expect ko,&quot; House Deputy Speaker Paolo Ortega said.</p><p>&quot;Tumataas ulit &#x27;yung presyo ng gasolina, hopefully oil deregulation is part of the conversation. Hopefully maisama sa LEDAC yung MC Taxi bill po namin,&quot; House Deputy Majority Leader Rodge Gutierrez added.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>LEGISLATIVE AGENDA </strong></div><p>House leaders are optimistic the lower chamber will be able to pass the remaining 26 of the 52 Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) priority measures of the Marcos Jr. administration.</p><p>But Ortega and Gutierrez acknowledged that &quot;time&quot; to accomplish this may be a challenge, amid the ongoing impeachment trial and the upcoming deliberations on the 2027 national budget.</p><p>Still, they believe the House is &quot;on track&quot; with its legislation targets.</p><p>&quot;Medyo overtime ang House… Medyo may challenges, siguro dahil sa oras, may impeachment, mayroon &#x27;yung mga iba-ibang agenda namin, mga own district priorities namin, mga district legislative measures namin. So talagang it will be a very busy next two years for the House,&quot; he said.</p><p>&quot;Kailangan mas tutukan ngayon. Kailangan mas siguro damihan &#x27;yung frequency ng mga meetings namin, together with our counterparts in the Senate, kasi malaki bagay sila, partner mo &#x27;yan para umabot sa ehekutibo… Parang the past few years may mga idinagdag po, medyo dumami &#x27;yung LEDAC measures. I think we&#x27;re on track naman… We&#x27;ve always taken pride na na-check po namin &#x27;yung majority o karamihan po buo &#x27;yung LEDAC measures.
