Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News</span></span></span></div><p>MANILA – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday hinted that corruption could once again be among the topics in his fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA), offering only a brief response when asked if he would revisit the issue, particularly the controversy over <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/7/28/-mahiya-naman-kayo-marcos-order-probe-on-corruption-in-flood-control-projects-1725">flood control projects.</a></p><p>“Abangan ang susunod na kabanata,” Marcos Jr. told reporters in a chance interview after the inauguration of the Jose B. Lingad Children&#x27;s Medical Center at Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/18/flood-control-probe-faces-fresh-scrutiny-as-sona-nears-1354">Flood control probe faces fresh scrutiny as SONA nears </a></div><p>The President said his SONA would update the public on his administration&#x27;s actions since last year&#x27;s address, including its response to the impact of tensions in the Middle East.</p><p>“I will make sure that people know all of the things that we have done to navigate this very difficult period in our history, where we are buffeted by all of these external forces,” he said.</p><p>“But nonetheless, our response has been good, and we have had to make adjustments, but those adjustments have been effective and have served their purpose. Until one hour before the SONA, I&#x27;m still changing it, you know, because, of course, we want it to be perfect,” he said.</p><p>“But on the whole, yes, on the whole, I would say the actual language is 90 plus percent done.
