The body of a woman stuffed inside a suitcase was discovered Friday afternoon after it clogged a creek in Barangay Tanyag, Taguig City.Men clearing the waterway removed a large object wrapped in a black garbage bag after noticing it was clogging the creek.As they pulled it out, they were immediately struck by foul odor coming from the package.Inside the garbage bag was a blue suitcase. Upon opening it, the workers found the woman&#x27;s body, wrapped in another black garbage bag and a sack.The victim was identified only by the alias “Tata,” believed to be around 46 years old, and reportedly a police informant.A post-mortem examination showed that the victim sustained a stab wound in her side and blunt-force trauma in the head.According to Taguig City Police chief investigator P/Capt. Melvin Garcia, they believe the killing took place on Thursday and the suspects took advantage of the heavy rain to dump the body in the creek in an apparent attempt to conceal the crime.“Siguro mas minabuti ng mga suspek na ipaanod itong biktima natin para hindi halata, hindi nila doon sa may banda hindi kalayuan, yun creek ay barado kaya nagbara, hindi umaagos ng malayo yung bangkay,” Garcia said.With the help of local residents, authorities located the victim’s residence, just about 15 meters from the creek where the suitcase was recovered.The house is owned by the victim’s live-in partner, identified only as alias “Kokong,” 51 years old.When police entered the residence, they found two other men asleep inside, identified only as alias “Willy” and alias “Reynaldo.”Authorities recovered drug paraphernalia inside the house.Investigators said one of the most significant pieces of evidence recovered was a sack that closely matched the one used to wrap the victim’s body.Garcia said investigators found strong forensic links between the materials recovered from the suitcase and those inside the house.“Ang nakapagpatibay po ng ating ebidensya dito, meron po tayong nakita na nagli-linkage doon po sa, ng mga materials na ginamit po ng, sa pagpatay dito na kung saan ay yung pong bangkay ay binalot po ng sako. Na yung pong sakong yon, sakong nakita doon po sa pagbalot po sa bangkay, ay humahalingtulad po doon sa sako na ginamit po doon sa may barandilya nila, doon sa kanilang garahe, na meron pong pinagbabalutan na videoke,” Garcia said.“Parehas po ang materials na ginamit. Parehong-pareho po ang sako at yung pong punit. At dito po sa nasabi  pong pag-iimbestigahan natin, ay may nakakita rin po tayo sa basurahan na kapiraso rin po ng mga materials na humahalingtulad din po sa mga na-recover natin na ginamit po sa pagbalot,” he added.Police learned that Kokong previously underwent drug rehabilitation and had been living with the victim for only about a month.Kokong strongly denied involvement in the killing.“Hindi po talaga sir, hindi ko po kayang gawin yun sa kanya kahit nga sigawan,” Kokong said.Willy and Reynaldo also denied any participation in the murder but admitted using illegal drugs.“Bago lang po ako doon sa kanila nakatira eh kaya wala po akong alam doon, minsan gumagamit po ako ng drugs,” Willy said.“Wala talaga sir, wala akong alam sir, driver din lang po ako, boarders lang po ako doon sir, bihira lang naman po ako sir gumamit ng drugs,” Reynaldo said.Police also disclosed that Willy had previously been implicated in a homicide case in Samar.Further strengthening investigators’ case were traces of blood and strands of hair recovered inside the residence of the victim’s live-in partner.The evidence has been submitted for forensic examination.Authorities are pursuing several possible motives, including the illegal drug trade and a possible love triangle, noting that the primary suspect was reportedly the victim’s third live-in partner.The three suspects are now detained at the Taguig City Detention Facility and are facing charges in connection with the woman’s killing, as well as separate charges for the use of illegal drugs.
