According to the organizers&#x27; permits, around 20,000 rallyists are expected to participate.</p><p>NCRPO said 22,000 police personnel are deployed across Metro Manila, with 10,000 assigned in Quezon City.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/27/pnp-no-security-threat-detected-on-sona-day-0813">PNP intensifies intelligence monitoring, says no security threat detected ahead of SONA</a></div><p>NCRPO Regional Director Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin said protest activities across the city have remained generally peaceful, with no security threats monitored so far.</p><p>“So far po dito sa kaabahan ng Commonwealth area, generally peaceful po tayo. 100 percent na po yung deployment po natin dito. And of course may namumuo na po tayong rally sa along PHILCOA area.”</p><p>Although authorities will exercise maximum tolerance, Aberin urged protesters to comply with existing laws and regulations to help ensure everyone&#x27;s safety.</p><p>“Sa mga sasali po sa rally, although nire-recognize po natin yung karapatan natin mag-organisa at magpahayag ng damdamin, ang karapatan po na ito ay may limitasyon. Sana po sumunod po tayo sa batas, nang sa ganun ay makaiwas po tayo sa mga potential na problema,” he added.</p><p>Two lanes along a section of Commonwealth Avenue near the St. Peter’s Parish are closed on Monday, July 27, to accommodate the protest program.
