MANILA – The Department of Justice (DOJ) is investigating an explosion believed to have been caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) near the entrance of its compound shortly after midnight Tuesday.In a statement, the DOJ said the explosion occurred at 12:17 a.m.No casualties were reported.The DOJ said the Philippine National Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal (PNP-EOD) Unit was immediately notified and responded to the scene to conduct a technical examination.&quot;Investigation is ongoing to determine the source, nature, and circumstances surrounding the explosion,&quot; the DOJ said.Authorities have yet to determine the source of the explosion and whether an IED was indeed used.The DOJ said the situation is under control and that the compound remains secure.&quot;The DOJ remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of its personnel and the general public, while supporting a comprehensive and impartial investigation,&quot; the agency said.
