Raffy Tulfo emerged as the highest-rated senator in the latest WR Numero Research survey, while the Senate itself received majority negative ratings from Filipinos following recent controversies involving the chamber.</p><p>The June 2026 Philippine Public Opinion Monitor asked respondents to identify up to three incumbent senators whom they believe are performing well.</p><p>Tulfo led the rankings with 25 percent of respondents naming him among the country&#x27;s best-performing senators.</p><p>He was followed by former Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano, 24 percent; Robin Padilla, 23 percent; Bam Aquino, 22 percent; and Bong Go, 19 percent.</p><p>Rounding out the top 12 were Rodante Marcoleta, 16 percent; Pia Cayetano, 14 percent; Erwin Tulfo, 14 percent; Bato Dela Rosa, 13 percent; Kiko Pangilinan, 13 percent; Risa Hontiveros, 12, percent; and Lito Lapid, 8 percent.</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1785473731574Screenshot 2026-07-31 at 12.54.57 PM.png" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px;display:block" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1785473742992Screenshot 2026-07-31 at 12.55.09 PM.png" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left"><em>Screenshot from WR Numero</em></span></span></span></div><div><strong>SENATE RATINGS</strong></div><div><br/></div><p>Despite these individual ratings, respondents gave the Senate as an institution a poor assessment.</p><p>The survey found that 56 percent of Filipinos were dissatisfied with the Senate&#x27;s performance, including 15 percent who said it was &quot;very poor&quot; and 41 percent who rated it &quot;poor.&quot;</p><p>Only 33 percent expressed satisfaction, while 11 percent were undecided.</p><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px;display:block" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1785473833436Screenshot 2026-07-31 at 12.57.02 PM.png" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left"><em>Screenshot from WR Numero</em></span></span></span></div><p>Compared with the March survey, Senate satisfaction declined to 33 percent from 36, while dissatisfaction increased sharply to 56 percent from 35 percent.</p><p>The survey also found that 73 percent of respondents said their trust in the Senate decreased following recent events involving the institution.</p><p>Only 16 percent said their trust increased, while 11 percent remained undecided.</p><p>The June 6 to 19 survey was conducted after a shooting incident inside the Senate premises and a leadership row among senators.</p><p>The survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 1,432 Filipino adults nationwide, with a ±2.6 percentage point margin of error at the 95 percent confidence level.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/22/robin-padilla-vico-sotto-top-early-senatorial-poll-1637">Robin Padilla, Vico Sotto top Pulse Asia&#x27;s July 2026 senatorial survey</a></div>
