Gerville Luistro said Monday.</p><p>During her opening speech, Luistro said &quot;the prosecution will present exactly what the constitution requires: evidence hindi tsismis, hindi haka-haka, hindi propaganda at lalong hindi socmed narrative.&quot;</p><p>&quot;Mga dokumento na hindi bumoboto. Mga records na walang partido. Mga katotohanan na walang kulay pang politika. Sa unang tingin, maaaring magmukhang magkakahiwalay ang four articles of impeachment,&quot; she said. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/sara-duterte-impeachment-trial">Impeachment Trial of Sara Duterte </a></div><p>Duterte faces charges she misused her P612.5-million confidential funds, issued grave threats against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., amassed unexplained wealth, and bribed government officials.</p><p>For Luistro, &quot;these are not four separate stories. These are four chapters of the same story — story about power exercised without accountability, story about public trust betrayed.&quot;</p><p>The Vice President and her defense lawyers have denied the accusations, saying that the charges are politically motivated.</p><p>Luistro again cast the impeachment proceedings as an accountability mechanism for erring public officers.</p><p>&quot;If a barangay treasurer must account for public fund, then so must the vice-president. If an ordinary public servant can be investigated, then so can the highest officials of the government. If ordinary citizen is expected to obey the rules, then surely those who govern them must obey them first,&quot; she said.</p><p>&quot;Otherwise, what lessons do we teach our children? That there is law for the powerful and another for everyone else? That accountability exists only for the weak?
