Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News/File</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — Former Public Works and Highways Secretary Manuel Bonoan has been transferred back to the Philippine National Police (PNP) General Hospital, where he continues to receive treatment for hypertension and chronic kidney disease, police officials said Thursday.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/6/29/ex-dpwh-chief-bonoan-eyed-as-state-witness-ombudsman-1604">Ex-DPWH chief Bonoan eyed as state witness — Ombudsman</a></div><p>PNP General Hospital Internal Medicine Department chief Lt. Col. Benaly Bayani said Bonoan remains under close medical observation.</p><p>“Nandito po siya sa ngayon sa atin. Undergoing pa rin ng treatment ng hypertensive vascular disease and chronic kidney disease.
