Mapupunta na po ‘yun [savings] sa mga pag-aaral ng bata,” Rosalinda Narca said, noting the rice aid could help her save P1,000.</p><p>Another resident, Joybelle Tuliao, said: “Ngayon po kasi nasunugan po kami. Malaking bagay po ‘to sa’min kasi ‘di na po kami bibili ng bigas.”</p><p>“Alam po natin ang epekto ng giyera sa Middle East – pagtaas ng gasolina, kerosene, apektado lahat pati ang pagkain natin sa hapag-kainan. Lahat, mataas ang bilihin,” Parañaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez said.</p><p>First Lady Liza Marcos, who led the distribution initiative, echoed the mayor’s remark.</p><p>“Totoo po ‘yung sinabi ng mayor (Olivarez) n’yo na mahirap talaga ang panahon ngayon dahil sa crisis sa Middle East… Sana makatulong ‘to (bigas),” she said.</p><p>City Administrator Ding Soriano said two more waves of distribution are still scheduled. </p><p>“Asahan po ng ating mamamayan ng Parañaque, kumpleto po ang ating bigas at naka-imbak na po ito para ipamigay sa tao natin,” he said.</p><p>The program is part of the government&#x27;s effort to strengthen food security and provide targeted assistance to low-income and vulnerable families while supporting local agricultural producers.</p><p>The First Lady will also visit other areas to lead the rice distribution drive.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO</strong></div><div><strong><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/pGkXQeQr0C0?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span></strong><br/></div>
