Gerville Luistro gave the prosecution a “10 over 10” grade in the first week of Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial, saying they “achieved” all their goals.</p><p>“I would say that we are 10 over 10,” Luistro told ANC’s Headstart.</p><p>She said the prosecution has been successful in the first week, when the pressure is highest due to the anticipated challenges and scenarios. </p><p>“Day 1, include na rin natin up to Day 3, diyan pinakamataas ang level ng pressure for us kasi we do not know yet what kind of engagement we are going to have, what kind of encounters we are going to have, whether our concerns will be addressed and favorably acted upon by the impeachment court,” she said.</p><p>“We were able to achieve all our goals per day,&quot; she also said. </p><p>Luistro explained that the prosecution’s goal for Day 1 was to reach out to Filipinos across the country through its opening statement.</p><p>For the second day, she said the prosecution members “were so happy” that Amando Ligutan, counsel for the prosecutors, presented all its evidence regardless of the defense&#x27;s manifestations and objections.</p><p>“On Day 3, we are happy as well because we honestly believe na hindi nila na-debunk ang testimony na nailatag na during the direct examination,” Luistro said.</p><p>“Yung mga question ng defense did not establish anything that will destroy the testimony that has been presented during Day 2 of the impeachment trial,” she added.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/8/defense-no-proof-duterte-contracted-an-assassin-1749">Defense: No proof Duterte contracted an assassin</a></div><p>The prosecution on Day 2 presented the Nov. 23, 2024 video where Duterte made the alleged threat against the lives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Marcos and former House speaker Martin Romualdez.</p><p>The prosecution also presented other videos wherein the vice president allegedly made similar statements.</p><p>On Day 3, the defense, through cross-examination, questioned the two alleged affidavits of investigation made by witness John Mark Calilung, senior agent of the National Bureau of Investigation. </p><p>It also showed clips of <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/8/duterte-defense-team-presents-clips-of-emotional-zuleika-lopez-from-november-2024-video-1603">emotional Zuleika Lopez,</a> Duterte’s chief of staff, during the Nov. 23, 2024 press briefing after she was cited in contempt and ordered detained by a House panel investigating Duterte&#x27;s alleged confidential funds misuse.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/8/wrap-clips-context-and-questions-on-competence-close-first-week-of-impeachment-trial-2213">WRAP: Clips, &#x27;context&#x27;, and questions on competence close first week of impeachment trial</a></div><div><br/></div><div><strong>BANK, AMLC, BIR RECORDS</strong></div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px;display:block" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/178357277983420260708-senate-vp-sara-impeachment-day3-narvasa-MT9.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Defense counsel Carlo Joaquin Narvasa cross-examines National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Agent John Mark Calilung during the third day of the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte at the Senate in Pasay City on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. <em>Maria Tan, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span></div><p>Luistro said the prosecution may present bank officials as witnesses, but noted that the subpoenas are still subject to oral arguments at the impeachment court on Wednesday, July 15.</p><p>The oral arguments will also cover the records from the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) and the Bureau of Internal Revenue prior to 2022, when Duterte became the vice president, she said. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/6/impeachment-court-summons-nbi-agents-sends-back-bir-box-1818">Impeachment court summons NBI agents, sends back BIR box</a></div><p>“The issue there is whether or not we can actually use the evidence for the purpose of this impeachment trial.
