The body reviewed and confirmed key appointments made by the President to various government posts. <em>Maria Tan, ABS-CBN News. </em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — The Sandiganbayan has served another warrant of arrest against Senator Rodante Marcoleta, this time in connection with a separate graft case involving an alleged violation of Presidential Decree No. 46.</p><p>Presidential Decree No. 46 prohibits government officials and employees from receiving gifts, and private individuals from giving gifts, on any occasion in connection with official functions.</p><p>The warrant, issued by the anti-graft court&#x27;s Fourth Division, was served Thursday morning by a Sandiganbayan sheriff, according to the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).</p><p>“Kanina, we immediately dispatched ‘yung mga personnel ng CIDG to verify and validate such news and ‘yun nga nalaman natin it was already served by the sheriff of the Sandiganbayan,” CIDG National Capital Region chief PCol. John Guiagui said.</p><p>The case is bailable, with bail set at P30,000.</p><div><br/></div><div style="text-align:center"><iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?height=314&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Freel%2F1298262075426877%2F&amp;show_text=false&amp;width=560&amp;t=0" width="560" height="314" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe><br/></div><div><br/></div><p>Guiagui said only Marcoleta and former lawmaker Michael Defensor are named as accused in the PD 46 case, unlike the earlier plunder case where four respondents were charged.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/6/marcoleta-arrest-plunder-1023">Marcoleta arrested for non-bailable plunder case</a></div><p>The Fourth Division found probable cause to charge Marcoleta and Defensor with violating the law.</p><p>Marcoleta remains under guard at the PNP General Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment for pneumonia and other illness while doctors continue evaluating his other medical conditions.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/9/cholesterol-adds-to-marcoleta-health-woes-1328">Cholesterol adds to Marcoleta health woes</a></div><p>Guiagui said the CIDG has already complied with the Sandiganbayan Third Division&#x27;s directive to submit documents related to Marcoleta&#x27;s arrest and detention, including his booking records, fingerprints, mugshots, certificate of detention, and medical report.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>MARCOLETA&#x27;S HEALTH<br/></strong></div><div><br/></div><p>He said the senator will not be transferred to jail until he is declared medically fit by the PNP General Hospital.</p><p>“Once there is a clearance from the PNP GH, ‘yung sa medical team na puwede siya, abled body na siya to be committed we will do so kasi we are mandated to do so. Otherwise, there will be a delay for us,” Guiagui said.</p><p>He added that moving Marcoleta without medical clearance could put his health at risk.</p><p>“Paano kapag pag-commit natin sa kanya may mangyari along the way? So kailangan may medical clearance muna before we do so.”</p><p>Despite being confined at the hospital, Marcoleta remains under the custody of the CIDG, with police personnel guarding him around the clock.</p><p>Guiagui said visits to the senator are subject to approval by CIDG officials.</p><p>Immediate family members and his legal counsel are allowed to visit, while requests from other visitors are evaluated by the CIDG leadership.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/7/vp-duterte-visits-detained-sen-marcoleta-after-plunder-arrest-0915">VP Duterte visits Sen.
